After a month long rigorous fast
Believers set their eyes to sky
Below the Polaris, the sights are cast
Eager faces, night drew nigh.
The new moon has shown its face
With a joyful grace
Here comes the day of Eid
A jolly festival indeed.
The day of reward, a celebration
A grand feast of fasts
All go for prayer, faith's declaration
Smiles on faces, may forever it lasts.
Moving mutually, rich give sad'qatul fitar
So the poor's faces have a happy glitter
Here comes the day of Eid
A jolly festival indeed.
After prayer and after thanking God
Congratulations, hugs and kisses
Cakes, chocolates and a broad
Range of local sweet dishes.
People exchange gifts to express
Love, friendship and happiness
Here comes the day of Eid
A jolly festival indeed.
